ASUU Scholarship Award Application

Again the Academic Staff Union of Universities in Nigeria is offering scholarship awards to all eligible Nigerian students in the various universities across the country.

If you’re interested in applying for a scholarship, then you can consider the ASUU scholarship program. It is newly established this year 2023 and the application is still ongoing. According to the board’s spokesperson, the scholarship is open to Nigerians mainly in their university running. The scholarship board will select interested qualified students from all the various parts of the country.

About the ASUU Scholarship program

As a union established in 1978, the Academic Union of Universities was established to protect the interest of students and the Nigerian universities at large. ASUU scholarship foundation has just been established recently. The scholarship program aims to increase the quality of education in Nigeria through funding. The ASUU scholarship award will come with a certain amount of payment for individuals who are qualified and awarded this scholarship.

The scholarship requires you to be a student in an accredited university in Nigeria by NUC, and individuals deemed fit for this award will pass some processes of application before he/she will be granted.

ASUU Scholarship Scholarship Type

The scholarship headed by the ASUU president, Professor Victor Emmanuel Osodeke has its rules tied strictly to individuals who are in their undergraduate studies. Knowingly, the scholarship is newly established and It is only available for undergraduates at the moment.

ASUU Scholarship Award

The scholarship award granted by the Nigerian  Academic Staff Union of Universities is at a fixed amount. Although the scholarship is granted to a large number of students across the country. The fee rewarded is about NGN 100,000.

Requirements and Eligibility for ASUU Scholarship Award

To be eligible to apply and be granted the ASUU scholarship award, individuals must have the following requirements:

• You must be an indigenous Nigerian student in any recognized university across the country.
• Such applicants who are studying must be in a university with an ASUU branch. Universities with dissolved ASUU will not have their applicants eligible
• You must have at least 3.0 CGPA and above to be eligible for this scholarship award

Documents Required for ASUU Scholarship Application

• For verification, applicants must present their JAMB & University letter of admission
• You must present your current student’s ID Card, a photocopy of it is needed
• A signed letter from the applicant’s Head of Department with the candidate’s academic information particularly CGPA with the previous one included
• You must also present a copy of your registration number from the previous session
• Two recent passport photographs.

Deadline for ASUU Scholarship Application

The application for the ASUU scholarship application is still ongoing and available until September 10, 2023.

How to Apply for ASUU Scholarship Award

Application for ASUU Scholarship award is done and completed offline within your school. All the eligible interested applicants are required to submit an application letter of not less than 2 pages along with the following information.

• Your name as it available on your school’s data
• The course you’re studying
• Your current year of study
• Your duration of study
• State of origin
• Detail reasons why you believe you should be given the award.

All applicants are required to submit this scholarship application to the ASUU Secretariat in their institution.
