It is a scholarship program designed mainly for students who are indigene of Edo state in order to have access to good free education within the state. This is in lieu of the state government’s corporate responsibility and social welfare to help their indigenous students to have access to good and quality education.

Applicants of the Edo State government scholarship must be ready to study in tertiary institutions within the state. Such students must have applied to be or admitted before he/she can be offered.
Students to be offered the award must be studying in Edo state and will be offering all the courses tenable in higher institutions in Nigeria.
Edo State Government Scholarship Type
Edo state government scholarship program is mainly for undergraduate students. Individuals who are looking for scholarship opportunities to pursue their postgraduate studies are not eligible to apply.
Also, the scholarship is granted to students who are enrolled to study for full-time, part-time students are not eligible to apply for the scholarship benefits.
Requirements of the Edo State Government Scholarship Application
Before you can apply for the Edo state government scholarship program, you must have the following requirements to be considered eligible:
- You must be a bonafide indigene of Edo state with Proof of Indigene
- Applicants must complete secondary school and sit for the Senior Secondary Examination SSCE and have obtained their results. Such result could be NECO/WASSCE or equivalent with at least 5 credits in any of the five relevant subjects including English and Mathematics
- You must be studying as a full-time student in any accredited tertiary institution in Edo state
Required Documents for Edo State Government Scholarship Program
To apply for the Edo state government scholarship program, individuals are required to have the following documents before they can be eligible for the application:
- Edo State of Origin Certificate
- Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age from any magistrate court
- A recent passport-size photograph
- JAMB Admission Letter
- Institutions Admission letter
- WAEC/GCE/SSCE Result/Certificate
- Local Government Identification Letter
The documents to be uploaded are to be reduced and converted to jpg formats for easy assessment. Also, the documents must be scanned, photocopies are acceptable however original copies are more recommended.
How to Apply for Edo State Government Scholarship Program
There are two different stages of the application, firstly applicants are to visit the website of the Edo State government scholarship board and create a profile account. The profile creation involves opening the website and entering all your personal information such as names, contact information, address, and other personal information.
After the profile creation, you can log in to the portal with the login details obtained during the profile creation. Register on the website and then scan all the documents required then upload them. After that, you can submit your application and then wait for an assessment.
Deadline of Edo State Government Scholarship Application
At the time of this publication, the Edo state government scholarship application had not yet started. However, the application commences every year and the registration is due for up to 3 to 4 weeks before it closes.
