Documents Needed To Apply For Canada Student Visa

Before you can be granted a Canada student visa, you need to have the right documents. Here are the documents needed to apply for a student visa.

Proof Of Acceptance

Before coming to Canada to study, your school must have first sent you a letter of acceptance. This acceptance letter must be included in your student visa application processing.

Conditional Acceptance and Prerequisite Courses

Coming to study in Canada from a foreign country, requires that you prove you have enough financial capacity to support yourself and anyone who accompanied you to Canada. You can prove that with the following means

  • If you have transferred money to a Canadian bank, you must provide the bank account.
  • Prove that you have been granted a loan, to finance your education in Canada
  • Provide your earliest four months bank statement
  • If you have a bank draft that can be converted to the Canadian dollar, kindly provide it
  • If you have paid for house rent and tuition fee, this will greatly help, provide the proof, if you have done so.
  • A letter from a recognized and reputable person in the society, ready to finance your education in Canada
  • A letter that you are coming to school, based on scholarship.

The minimum funds, required to cover all your expenses, while you are studying in Canada, is usually close to $21000.

Letter Of Explanation

Letter of invitation is what will give the officers enough convincing reasons of why you are coming to study in Canada, it will be able to explain the following.

  • Your purpose of coming to study in Canada
  • You understand the value of Education.

This letter of invitation should be included in your visa application, even if it’s not required for you to get a study permit before you can study in Canada.
